Not So Local Heroes: Jet Setting with Roland DG

Over the course of this year we at Fine Rolling Media have taken to the skies to help one of our best creative partners, Roland DG, find some heroes in unsuspected places.

We’ve been on a hero’s journey of our own, creating films for the Roland Hero Awards, 2018. This initiative is designed to highlight and celebrate businesses of all sizes that utilise their Roland printers in innovative, revolutionary and life-changing ways. With the wide format and 3D technology delivered by Roland machines such as the VersaUV S-Series and the monoFab ARM-10, Roland customers have been able to print some incredible products that have not only changed their lives, but the lives of those in their communities.

Roland has been tracking down these creative companies and – with help from films made by the Fine Rolling Media team – showcasing their amazing stories. So far, the Roland Hero mission has gone to; Spain, Germany, Wales, the Peak District, Italy, and beyond. As we’ve traveled with Roland, we’ve been struck by just how different each of the stories behind these successful companies are – proving once more that you really can’t fit success into a single mould. Or jig. (Sorry, printing joke!)

We began working with Roland in 2017 when we were hired to create some fun application videos designed to inspire people to be creative with their Roland machines. From there, we got a little more inventive with Roland’s video content, even putting our own humorous spin on their Christmas advert last year. Our work on the Roland Hero Campaign provides us with the perfect outlet to tell the human stories behind successful brands – one of the key things Fine Rolling Media was set up in order to do.

 

It takes a special company to seek out and embrace the innovation, creativity and the human courage behind business success – and that’s what Roland is achieving with this campaign. Most of our team have a background in brand films and documentaries, so our involvement in the Roland Hero Awards 2018 has given us an awesome opportunity to flex our creative muscles in these areas once more.
